When (carpentry) to Hire an Employment Attorney
By Art Gib
Labor law is a collection of precedents, administrative rulings and laws that tackle both the legal rights of organizations and their employees. As such, mediation between employees, employers and trade unions is encompassed in these laws. However, there exist two wide ranging labor law categories. Firstly, there is the branch that deals in the tripartite relations between union, employee and employer. Secondly there is the employee law that enlists laws that consist of employee rights, as to do with the work contract between employer and employee.
An employment attorney acts as the mediator between an employee and their employer. Such attorneys have to specialize in many different kinds of fields in order to represent their client efficiently. This can be either the employer or the employee. Mostly, employees are the ones who seek the services of employment lawyers as compared to employers. However, employers have to get employment lawyers to represent them too in cases where an employee sues.
Employment lawyers normally deal with law that entails how an employer should treat their employees. Most of the clauses that an employment attorney has to be conversant with are sexual harassment and discrimination. Employers and employees alike need to know when an action is termed as sexual harassment or discrimination in order to avoid it.
An employee can also seek the services of an employment lawyer when reading their contracts before signing them. This ensures that the employee knows exactly what they are getting into. Additionally, an employment attorney can offer advice to employers who feel like their rights are being violated. This is to ensure they do not sue when there is no law being broken. In case they are being violated, the employment lawyer will represent them during proceedings and make sure that their grievances are heard. In case of unionization, the lawyer also acts as the workers’ spokesperson and provides litigation support.
Sometimes, employees are not sure if they should get an employment lawyer. However, if one feels like they have been wrongfully terminated or are discriminated against at work, they should get a lawyer. Other issues that most employment lawyers deal in are payment issues, contracts and severance packages. In such cases, employees should get employment attorneys to ensure that their rights are not infringed upon. The employment attorney is there to ensure the equal treatment of all employees. This right is given to everyone legally able to work in the United States.

A Night Of Looking Online For Another Job
By Jeffrey Solochek
I applied for 15 jobs last night on Craigslist and it’s only now Sunday morning and I have had 6 replies all of them scams. Now most of the ones that are scams will send you an email via autoresponder asking you to fill out some online ad to get you a response. The form is generally the same where you fill out your basic info and then you have to check boxes whether you would like additional information about pursuing your education. They also always ask you for your cell phone provider.
Here’s one of the autoresponder messages that I received last night “Thank you for your interest in our Customer Service Coordinatorposition! In order to expedite the hiring process, please fill out ouronline application at the link below.http://greatcareerpaths.XXX/XXXX Attach a resume, if available. Once completed, your information willbe forwarded to management for review. We will contact you in a fewdays.”
Usually the web address will be some clickable link. Here’s another example of basically the same thing, the same kind of response.Dear Jeffrey ,

Business opportunity emails where the first ad is disguised as a job offer. The email above was posted on Craigslist as a job offer for an Inbound Call Center rep. It seems that everything in this life has a catch. I will look at legitimate business oportunities but all I was looking for last night was an additional job to help pay my bills each month> At least with sites like Careebuilder the autoresponder messages say thank you for applying for our career opportunity and we will contact you in the near future if we like your application.
Whats needed on these sites like Craigslist is human editors to review each ad. People who can tell whats real and whats a scam. Craigslist isn’t the only site where these scams are posted sometimes they even appear on sites like that of Careerbuilder and Monster. People who are looking for legitimate work have to resort to cold calling companies out of their local phone book. I have a new site that will specialize in legitimate work opportunities and I will be examining each company.

Is There A Solution To Illegal Immigration?
By Aydan Corkern
Do you remember all the fuss that was going on in this country about immigration and all the problems that went along with it? Until this time, did you even realize how many people were in this country illegally? A lot of people knew of some cases where there were a lot of people brought into this country. One place that comes to mind is my hometown in Dakota City, Nebraska. The plant was Iowa Beef Processors, and it is still running and still hiring these workers. I applied and didn’t get the job. I was told at the time that they were not hiring, but while I was there they took some of these people to give them drug tests and their name badges.
Our Federal Immigration Enforcement agency had been running a 10-month long raid that brought the arrest of over 300 workers in one South Carolina plant. On top of these arrests, charges have been brought up on 11 supervisors and one Human Resources manager for falsifying employment records in regards to these workers.
All of the ones that were arrested were interviewed, fingerprinted, and photographed before they could be sent to the deportation stations. In late August, this company did a raid on a plant in Laurel, Mississippi where they arrested 595 illegal people at this one plant. They did the same in California in a four-month nationwide crackdown of 53 cities from June 1 to September 30 that included 28 states. 430 crackdowns were made in California alone. This was the most of any state and included 168 in San Angeles, 96 in San Bernardino, and 81 in San Diego. Raids on gang members of 1700 did most of these.
Since 2005, 11,100 have been arrested. Of those arrested, 3,997 have been criminally charged with 7,109 charged with immigration violations and were processed for deportation. It costs us 6,000 dollars per person to deport them home, and many will come back. Every week federal enforcement officers fly 127 that are caught in Ohio and Michigan to a small town in Texas to be sent across the boarder. Last year, they deported 900 from Ohio with it being 3,300 so far this year. I think that if we take away the need for these workers, it will slow down this trend. If we caught them and they have been here for a while, then I think that we should give them the option of signing papers for citizenship with the understanding that they will have to pay their taxes for all the time that they have lived in this country. If we did this, it would stop the want in their hearts.
