Although no one wants to get fired from there office job, the inevitable may always happen one day or another. So to be on the safe side, here are a few hints which may show you a small sign that the management is unhappy with you, and you never know you might be able to turn it around and keep your job.
Stop Turning up Late for Work
Firstly if you are late for work on the odd occasion, then that is understandable. We have all been stuck in traffic jams before, or have experienced public transport being cancelled. But when you start turning up late for work every single day, then you are probably asking for trouble. The first signs that people are unhappy with you would probably be in the form of ignoring you, once you start walking in to the office and everything goes silent and not even a mention of “good morning”, then you know the wind is blowing in the wrong direction.
I Can’t Believe you Did That!
If you are constantly making mistakes at work then you will definitely be heading for the door, nobody wants to employ someone that will act in such a way with there clients. There are two sides of this though, the first being where you keep making small mistakes and the second on where you have made one major mistake, which may well end up in instant dismissal.
Do Your Work and Shut up!
If you are one of these people that constantly have to talk, then there is probably a big chance that you are under achieving on the work side of things. Directors of the company are not usually allocated in the same room as the employees; therefore if you get called into the meeting room, you sure know that one of your colleagues has had enough of your voice.
Stop Turning the Office into a Play Area
Chucking things around the room, constantly singing and reading magazines is a sure way to get the boot. The office is a work area and not a play area so treat it that way; if you get caught playing around then it could also be a form of instant dismissal.
So finally if you think that any of the above applies to you, you may want to try to turn things round before you end up losing your job. The safest thing to do would ideally be, to sit on your office chair and work, in the end that is what you are paid to do.

Applying for a Job? Be Aware of the Employment Background Check

More and more these days, employers of all types are conducting background checks on potential employees. But it’s not the criminal background checks that job seekers should be worried about so much as the employment background checks.
Constraints of Background Checks by Employers
Many companies don’t do criminal background checks unless they are in law enforcement. And believe it or not, it is actually illegal for an employer to ask a candidate whether or not they have ever been arrested. However, they are allowed to ask if you have ever been convicted of a specific crime if it is related to the job you are applying for.
A good example would be if you are applying to be a janitor at a grade school. Such a school obviously would not want a pedophile working there, and so they might ask you if you’ve ever been convicted of child abuse. Likewise, retail stores hiring product stockers might ask if you’ve ever been convicted of shoplifting.
However, questions about convictions that are unrelated are generally not allowed. As a candidate that does have a criminal background, you would do well to study the company you are applying at and consider ahead of time whether your convictions are even remotely related to the job. If so, be prepared to answer questions about it. If not, then be prepared respond appropriately for a question that is illegal.

The employment background check is far more common with employers both because of its ease as well as the belief that past performance is the strongest indicator of a candidate’s future performance.
This type of background usually consists of an employer calling the previous employers you have listed. If you have left any employers on bad terms and are concerned about what they might say about your performance there, then listing them might not be the best idea even if the experience you gained there would help you get the job.
The most common flag that appears in employment background checks is that the candidate never even worked where he or she claims to have worked. This will typically result in immediate rejection in your consideration for the job.
The employment background check is virtually universal these days because of how easy it is to catch a candidate in a lie about their history. Employers simply call the past employers listed and confirm that you actually worked there.
Discovering that you have been dishonest is not a good way to start off a relationship with a potential future employer, thus making it very important that you are always honest about your employment history.

Unemployment Rises Fastest Rate in Two Decades

We all know that we are bang in the middle of a full blown credit crunch at the moment, with companies dropping left right and centre, it looks as though things are only set to get worse. With these companies on the brink of collapsing the unemployment figure is rising further and further, in fact in Britain we have seen the fastest rise in unemployment for 17 years and this is due to hit around 2 million people by the end of the year.
Last month the unemployment figure saw a rising of around 32,000 people; this has been the 8th month of consecutive rising figures. The most dismal figures that we have seen in almost two decades is set to get a lot worse.
The Bank of England are now being put under pressure to make a cut in interest rates, to at least relieve some of the pressure that the economy is facing, it is said the the interest rates could fall as low as 2%.
But government work is also said to see a major staff cut, with up to ten thousand prison workers and court workers set for the axe as the Ministry of Justice seeks to save themselves 900 million.
One of the most worrying aspects with the credit crunch in place is that a lot of people could potentially become homeless. As unemployment increases families could miss mortgage repayments and end up being evicted and there homes being repossessed, this would indeed then have a knock on effect which could spiral out of control.
How do I Find a Solution?
Basically on of the best solutions to turn to, is to actively seek work if you have been laid off. If you are living in a family household then all members of the family that are legally the correct age to work, should go out and work. Now is the most important time to stick together and work as a family, this will help ease financial worries.
You should also cut down on spending habits until the financial worries are over. This means less going out and less luxuries such as alcohol and deserts.
You may want to earn a little bit extra by starting your own small business such as ironing services or your own cleaning services. If you are computer savvy you could even consider starting your own web based company, as online profit is still at a very high tide.
